One is a tough age.
Both for me and for Will. While, it is really fun to watch him try new skills and, eventually master them ... each new skill mastered comes with some major struggles. Will's latest focus is attempting to master dressing himself. Sweet boy, there will come a time when you will scarcely remember that you couldn't pull a shirt over your head and get both arms through on the first try ... or the second ... or the fifteenth, without a little assistance.
Will is often seen walking around with his shirt (or daddy's boxers) over his face ... running into furniture.
As part of our morning routine, and thanks in no small part to the genius who invented the CRIB TENT, most mornings Will stays in his crib until 8:30 am and happily plays with toys. This morning, I heard cries of distress and ran to see what was the matter. Poor baby, while attempting to get his shirt on (or off, who knows?) had worked himself into quite the predicament. His shirt was twisted and had bound his arms behind his back so tightly it was starting to leave a mark. What little dignity he had hoped to retain in calling for help soon vanished, when instead of helping him immediately I ran to grab my camera phone to forever capture the moment.
It's not the first time, either, that he has worked himself into quite a pickle ... and been left hanging while I grab the camera. Poor thing.
These pictures are from last week when Will was trying to crawl behind the couch and ended up completely stuck, thanks in no small part, to his massive belly.
Adding further insult to injury, was the fact his brother was jumping back and forth with total ease ... AND that I left him "hanging" there for a few extra minutes while trying to take the picture and laughing hysterically.
He was REALLY stuck. You can see below that his feet were literally suspended several inches off the ground. He had managed to wedge himself between the wall and the couch so far, that I couldn't even pull him out. I had to move the couch to dislodge him.
Needless to say, the couch itself is now pressed against the wall. Not that I am trusting that to prevent another incident ... oh no ... experience dictates that we have several more months of similar mishaps in store. Life is never boring around here ...
