I've been an active Craigslist checker these days ... a few things I have been looking for include various bikes for various family members and a large trampoline (15' with a net). As a side note: I was shafted on a trampoline purchase a few weeks ago. Apparently, there is no sense of decorum when it comes to a good deal on Craigslist. First to arrive (not first to call and schedule an appointment) wins.Anyway ... I learned my lesson on that one, so when a bike for Jared that fit the bill for what I was looking for was posted today, we made the drive to pick it up asap.
A short drive and $20 later, it was ours and he loves it! I'm so excited for him to have a bike that fits him - poor kid looked like he was riding a clown bike these past few months. What can I say? I'm a little behind the curve here ... when your 3 year old rides a bike with no training wheels fit for a 6 year old, I've had some catching up to do. ;-)
Funny story from today: Jared was putting on his "new" shoes earlier today, his first ones with a shoelace - and only because there were no acceptable velcro options when we made the purchase a few weeks ago. Today, he informs me, "I'm learning to tie my shoes, mom," as he loops and swoops around and around, with them on the wrong feet. Not sure if you can see his knot, but it was a doosy. Pretty cute.

Again, a little behind the curve - I guess since I did buy him the shoes with laces I probably ought to take a few minutes to teach him how to tie them (instead of double knotting them and letting him continue to wear them as "slip-ons").
Live and learn, right? ;-)
