Well, there are a lot of big things going on at the Barretts this week ... which big thing am I referring to? The packing ... remodeling ... getting ready for a move on Saturday? Nope. It is Jared's first week back at school. He is positively bursting with excitement ...
His first full year in Mrs. Achterkirch's class starts tomorrow morning. Today, we spent an hour at Paradise Valley Christian Prep for orientation - letting the kiddos play and acclimate to what is sure to be a fabulous school year. I am excited, too, because I know it will be so good for him.
In my perfect life, I am that joyful mom who is super patient with her kids, has everything under control and organized with lots of planned activities, field trips, learning experiences, sings all the time, and never yells, and is always ready with a never-ending supply of hugs. Lately, my real life has been far short of that. I think the combo of moving stress, pregnancy fatigue, a large list of other responsibilities, and the oppressive summer heat that make it virtually impossible to leave the house has really taken a toll on me (and by extension - our family). In light of that, I am so grateful that Jared will have such a wonderful place to be on Tuesdays and Thursdays ... learning and growing in so many ways ... Thank goodness for Mrs. Achterkirch and Preschool!

Well that answers my question about whether or not you decided to go with Northwest Christian!
And don't beat yourself up about the tough time you've had lately. You are an amazing mom and going through A LOT right now! I hope that when things settle down for you we can try that playdate again!
