Picture Day!

The funniest part about Picture Day this year at school is that we almost missed it.

Seriously.

After 2 weeks of tired boys adjusting to this new schedule I decided to have mercy on them and let them sleep in on a school day and NOT wake up Jared. I called my friend, Christine (also a Kindergarten teacher) for moral support and asked, "It's ok every now and again, right? To be late? That's ok, right?" I'll be honest, she didn't sound too convinced. But, ever the encouraging friend, she didn't flat out tell me I was crazy either.

Then ... I accidentally butt dialed my other friend Lisa ... whose kids are in my boys' class. Since I had her on the phone anyway, I decided to fill her in on my plan. Even though school had already started, the boys were STILL asleep - I told her we'd be late.

And then she asked, "So ... you know its Picture Day, right? And that preschool is one of the first?"

Aaahhhh ... I totally forgot about Picture Day! The next 10 minutes were a BLURRRR as I quickly (read: loudly) woke up all three boys, threw some food in a bag, and we ran out the door to school!

And - thankfully, we made it!!

Handome boys!

PreK B waiting for their turn ...

And this guy - who took his job VERY SERIOUSLY ... worked hard at arranging all these squirmers. I've never seen such a posed picture setup for such little people (and no wonder, really)

Cheese!

I have to admit, the second most memorable part of picture day (other than the fact it almost didn't happen) was this guy yelling at me. Seriously, I was rebuked during picture day. I had Caleb in the stroller close by and he shrieked right when picture man was trying to snap the shot. The kids looked up (instead of at him) and man ... was I in trouble! Yikes!

Moral of the story ... if you are going to let your kids slide and play hooky for the morning. For goodness sake, check the calendar!! And - if you bring your baby, make sure he's far away from overly serious picture man!

PTL both boys made it in time for their class pics! :-)
