Sweet Mother's Day cuddles

Media_httpdistilleryi_ppaml

Is there anything sweeter than a newborn neck nuzzle?
If there is, I can't think of it.

After nearly killing myself trying to prove I could get back in the game quickly after a baby with Will, I learned a valuable lesson.  With Caleb, and now with Anna, too, I am committed to resting.  Like, seriously committed.  I stay in bed for at least a week.  And then, I continue to stay in bed pretty much as much as possible after that, as well, until I feel like doing otherwise.  I have an amazing husband who picks up the slack and doesn't give me a bit of crap about it.  He knows.  If I rest and stay down, we're all much better off for it in the long run.

And, as part of this resting - I take a month off Sundays from church.  These quiet Sunday mornings when Tim has the boys and its just me and the baby girl are priceless.

Newborn neck nuzzles.  Quiet house.  Homemade cards and roses from our garden.

Best. Mother's Day gifts. Ever.

Mothers day tea at kindergarten with Grandma Kim too!

Media_httpdistilleryi_jklbr

Today, I had the pleasure of attending Jared's Mother's Day Tea.  Since Bob & Kim are in town to help with baby Anna, Jared had his Mommy AND his Grandma...

... and his sweet little sister in her tea dress and bonnet.

Mrs. Utz did a beautiful job making it special for us.

I was moved to tears when she suprised me with a BABY SHOWER!  Amazing!

Cute Kindergartners.

And their proud mamas.

Jared, too, filled out a sweet questionnaire about me for a gift.  He took special care in his coloring and wrote such sweet things ...

I like that I am as pretty as a "blue jay" and appreciate getting insight into what makes him feel special.  Looks like I need to take this kid out to dinner!  :-)

Mothers day tea at preschool!

Media_httpdistilleryi_owyfh

My first big outing after Anna Jean's arrival was to accompany Will to his school for a special Mother's Day tea.  Thankfully, Tim has the week off work to drive us!

Will made this adorable gift for me, as well as a sweet brooch to wear.

I love that he says that I like to eat "healthy things" and that I like to cook "dinosaur chicken nuggets".

Forever will my third trimester complete vacation from cooking from scratch be memorialized here.  It's true people, I haven't really cooked in months.

I can only do one "thing" a day.  And, cooking an elaborate meal hasn't even registered anywhere on my list!

I'm glad to see that my precious 4 year old is giving me grace in spite of the fact I know I've had a crabby third trimester.  Not sure who he is talking about when he says, "I love her because she is always nice" but I'll take it!
