Peaceful sleeper...

Media_httpdistilleryi_vfhkf

... as long as she is physically touching me, that is.

This little one LOVES to be close to her mama.  Often I find myself wishing that she were my only job because cuddling her is such a delight.  So far, this is my first baby where I really don't have to leave her (even for one day a week) to go work outside of the home.  What a blessing that is.

Now that I am on my fourth baby, I truly do consciously spend more time cuddling, touching, holding as I know how fast this time goes.  And, since it's what makes her happy, too, why fight it? :-)

Sweet Mother's Day cuddles

Is there anything sweeter than a newborn neck nuzzle?
If there is, I can't think of it.

After nearly killing myself trying to prove I could get back in the game quickly after a baby with Will, I learned a valuable lesson.  With Caleb, and now with Anna, too, I am committed to resting.  Like, seriously committed.  I stay in bed for at least a week.  And then, I continue to stay in bed pretty much as much as possible after that, as well, until I feel like doing otherwise.  I have an amazing husband who picks up the slack and doesn't give me a bit of crap about it.  He knows.  If I rest and stay down, we're all much better off for it in the long run.

And, as part of this resting - I take a month off Sundays from church.  These quiet Sunday mornings when Tim has the boys and its just me and the baby girl are priceless.

Newborn neck nuzzles.  Quiet house.  Homemade cards and roses from our garden.

Best. Mother's Day gifts. Ever.
