Mommy's Weekend ...

While Tim was out of town this weekend in Prescott, for our church's annual Men's Retreat, I took the opportunity to pull out all the stops and make it a super fun time for the boys and I. Since I do most of my work from home and I am in the middle of a few projects right now, a lot of what the boys and I do is errands and other not-very-fun things. So... knowing how much they would miss their Daddy, I planned a special weekend of their favorite things ...

Thursday night we played Candyland and had hot chocolate. When I told Jared what we were going to do, he gave it his seal of approva and said, "That is a great, great, GREAT, idea." All day Friday, he talked about it again and wanted to do it Friday night, too, but ...

Friday night we "dressed up" and went on a date for some ICE CREAM!

Our sweet friends, the Sinclairs met us and the kiddos enjoyed a scoop together. Jared and Will LOVE Sammy and Gracie. They had a lot of fun running races outside after - well, until Will ran straight into a concrete column. Then we were done. (don't worry - he recovered quickly)


Saturday, we met Tracy Carson and her boys and Kimberly Allred, and her sweet Annie at the Railroad Park. This was the first time the boys had really played there. Needless to say, the train was a HIT!






As was the carousel!




We picnicked on the grass, enjoying the gorgeous day, as the boys ran from tree to tree. After a few hours, we were all exhausted and ready to go home for some great naps.

But ... not before stopping for a fireman hat and a photo op on the way out ...

Phew! Fun weekend ... but we are all definitely ready for Daddy to get home in a few hours! ;-)
