T-ball 2011 ...

We just finished up a fabulous weekend ... some highlights ...

We had our first T-ball game of the season. Will was THRILLED to get to play in his first game after sitting on the sidelines last season. We laid out their uniforms the night before. They were dressed and ready well before 7am...

Jared up to bat.

Will up to bat (we're pretty sure he's left handed!)

Will was so cute. Can you see his face in this picture? He was brimming with excitement, he was sure he was coming out for the "Will Show". You could see it in his eyes that he was ready to be the star player. Times like this I so wish I could be in my kids' head to hear their thoughts!

How precious is this? His little feet perfectly
together on the base. He just kills me!!

Run, home Will!!

The outfield was a different story ...
sort of a sad little reality check here.
Here are the boys ready to catch the ball...

Pile on the ball!

Here is Will breaking down with the disappointment
of another ball he didn't get to catch ...

... and Will getting a talking to about good
sportsmanship from his Daddy. Team sports is a tough
concept to grasp at first!! Such a good lesson. :-(

Daddy and Caleb cheering on from the sidelines...

High-fives!

... and the post-game treat!

Sunday worship ... My heart was so full. I couldn't help by think that joy was my sleeping babe to my one side (Caleb likes to sleep with blankets touching his cheeks or on his face as you can see in this picture) and my cute husband with his arm around me on the other. After church our congregation voted on two new deacon nominations - one of whom was my cute husband.

After naps we saddled up for a fun, family bike ride.

So proud of Will for another reason this weekend, he remembered how to ride his bike!! After his big crash he was very fearful of falling. So much so that he really didn't want to ride at all. This Saturday, he finally figured out that he could pedal and not fall. And ... it was on!

Caleb slept in the bike trailer...

We took off to go see a few houses to get some ideas for the front of our house and ended up riding for almost two hours. In that time, those little legs covered 5 miles around our neighborhood. All the time, Will was growing in confidence. The highlight for him was probably the last mile where Tim and Jared slowed down so Will could keep up with them. Pure joy.

... And ... our new favorite toy around the Barrett house is for Caleb. He LOVES this bouncer on loan from the Bentleys. And WE love it because he is just hilarious bouncing up and down. How fun is this picture? His smile is huge!! And ... there's Will - holding his hand as always. I'm not going to lie, I discourage Will's physical affection for Caleb as its hard to watch him spread invisible germs all the time. But ... it is pretty cute nonetheless. They really love each other already.
