...Big things are happening around the Barrett house ...
Namely, Jared Barrett is starting PRESCHOOL! He's been talking about this for the past nine months. It's pretty much been his standard conversation starter.
"Hey, did you know that I am starting PRESCHOOL!??"
Well... the time has finally arrived ...
Jared and I went back to school shopping for the first time the other night. Here he is picking out some new markers and other art stuff for the supply list on our solo Target date:

(he was pretty excited - could explain why he broke into his little spontaneous song)
The next day his new teacher, Mrs. Rashke came for a home visit. She brought play doh and stayed for a while so they could get acquainted. She was super nice - even though the boys fought more than once ... Sooo embarrassing!
Friday, we had our "Get Acquainted Day." Tim was able to take off to meet us at Scottsdale Christian so that we could all check out the new room and meet the other kids and parents. Jared was beyond thrilled that his Daddy came to preschool (thanks, Melinda for the heads up on that one! lol!)

We had to get Jared a new backpack, too. Lightning Mcqueen backpack is not going to cut the mustard anymore. Here is Jared introducing his dad to his new teacher as he proudly tells her, "Look! I have a solid colored backpack!"
This is the wonderful Mrs. RashkeJared had so much fun playing. There are lots of little boys in his class. I know he is going to love it ... wonder how Mrs. Rashke will break it to them that they can't play with ALL the toys in ALL the stations ALL the time ... ha!

Jared is signed up to go Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 - noon. This is going to seriously move up our morning routines, but its going to be so worth it. I know it will be so good for him to have his own friends and his own time. I'm looking forward to the one on one with Will, too.
And so the routine changes and time marches on ...
PS: The first big day is Tuesday 9/1 ... please say a little prayer for us. It will be an adjustment for all three of us (Will & I included) ... we are so used to always being together!
