Christmas Happenings ...

Sooo ... if the purpose of keeping this blog is to keep a journal of the happenings of our family, I haven't been doing a great job lately, but I will share that I have high hopes of recording some of the high points of the past few months before the end of the year if that counts for anything ...

Now ... onto Christmas ... can it really be only 3 days away? Christmas 2009 has been fun and, yet, stressful at the same time with these 2 boys. Trying to get stuff done, trying to make sure "stuff" doesn't get broken, trying to incorporate activities to make it memorable and special and teach our sweet boys about the miracle of Christ's birth.

Jared had his first Christmas party at school this year. I attended with Will and they were gracious enough (due to an absent preschooler) to allow him to make his own gingerbread house and eat snack with the kids. Doesn't he just fit right in? He is the same size as most of Jared's classmates - Jared is the tallest kid in his class by quite a bit.

It was fun going to the party, but I left with a great respect for preschool teachers. There is definitely a reason it has never been my choice for profession. Mrs. Rashke must have nerves of steel and the patience of Job to do many days like this Christmas party day. Ha! LOUD and rowdy. It didn't help that the kids basically mainlined sugar for thirty minutes straight. Does that sound cynical? I guess the sugar overload on 2 and 3 year olds isn't my favorite part of Christmas, but they sure have fun!

On a side note - how cool is it that I was able to attend his party during the day. I am so grateful I get to be home! ;-)

Cute idea - they used an old milk carton glued to a plate to make the form. The kids used white icing to "glue" on graham crackers and other goodies to it.
