I'm a little late on this one, but I found some pics on my cell phone from Jared's end of the year preschool program from
Paradise Valley Christian Prep (
PVCP). You may remember from this
post that switched Jared's preschool back in April. Praise the LORD for that decision, we could not have been happier for the way he ended the year. He spent the last few months of his first preschool experience with the fabulous Mrs.
Achterkirch who is passionate about Christian education and LOVES her little lambs.
I know I say this a lot, but the capacity for children at this age to learn with the proper instruction is incredible. Their sweet program at the end of the year provided a fun forum to show all of us proud parents just how much learning they did!

This pic is of Jared's class this year on the left (older 4's and 5's - most of whom will go onto Kindergarten next year) and
Mikayla's class on the right (3's and younger 4's who will do the
Pre-K 4 class next year - with Jared).
They did the pledge allegiance to the American flag, the Christian flag, and the Bible and several songs with hand motions, a few of them in Spanish ...

This is Jared's class reciting their memory verses learned throughout the year. See that little girl on the right? She is holding the letter "M". They learned a different memory verse for EACH letter of the alphabet (each letter - no joke) and did it not only in English, but also in sign language. The verses came from this
book.

Each child from each class was honored by their teacher with kind words and a certificate rewarding them for a specific Christian character trait. Jared received a certificate recognizing him for displaying the trait of obedience. Love that.

My sweet friend Lisa with her two girls,
Arianna and
Mikayla. I am so happy Jared and
Mikayla get to be in a class together next year. They have grown up next door to each other and really love one another.
Mikayla is a precious, precious girl.

Poppi even came to see the program and celebrate Jared!Jared really loved his school and can't wait to go back in the fall. He will be in the same grade he participated in the last few months with the same wonderful teacher, I know its going to be a tremendous year. He is going to grow so much in so many ways, not the least of which is going to be confidence. After just 2 months of class time at
PVCP, he says things and asks questions that have Tim and I saying to each other on at least a weekly basis, "I can't believe how much he learned!" He LOVES learning and we are grateful to be able to place him in an environment where he can do so much of it. What a blessing.
Now ... what to do with our little, precocious, soon to be 3 year old next year ...
