What do you get when you let a group of 3-5 year olds choose a name for their new soccer team? You get the "Dolphin-Whale-Shark Team"! How awesome is that? They took a vote and couldn't decide which which marine animal was the favorite so they figured best to include them all. Granted, the entire team didn't stick around to participate in the vote after last week's practice because half of them were already very busy rolling down a nearby grass hill ...
We are super excited that both the boys get to play soccer this year. They are on the same team in the "Rookie" division of the St. Francis Athletic Association's soccer league. They are getting their first taste of a GREAT sport for little boys. Not many of them really get what's going on yet (except perhaps Stone Woods!) but they are having a blast running around like crazy.
Our first practice was last week ...
And our first game was last Saturday - it was SO HOT. Waayy too hot for the end of September - we learned our lesson at that 10am game though and will bring some shade this week. Poor kiddos - they seriously baked!!

We're really looking forward to a great few months of soccer. It's already been a total hoot watching these little guys run around like crazy. If you thought T-ball was coaching intensive - you should check out soccer. Ha ha! Its a full time job for at least 4 dads to make sure the pack is running in the right direction.
Priceless.
