Today's Project ...

Today, we had a (rare) free Saturday at home so we decided to tackle a project in the boys rooms. We took the time to transition their room from this:

To this:

We've been directing all of our home improvement energies these past few months towards the exterior of our home these (update to follow - hopefully soon!). Meanwhile, the inside has been a little neglected. Seriously. There is so much else to do that "hang pictures" doesn't even rate anywhere on the list! (I'm hoping to work on that over the summer). And although, I appreciate when things are organized, I wouldn't say I am a very organized person. I'm not so good at tackling these projects solo.

That's why it was so great to have Cute Husband home today to help manhandle the boys' beds into their new bunk bed setup and hang shelves and bulletin boards and just BE with me today. (I have to confess - we're pretty sure my love language is "acts of service") :-)

We put the boys' bulletin boards low enough where they can get to it themselves. And all the extra space from having the beds stacked freed up the full play rug for in-room playtimes - sure to be more frequent now that summer is here.

Another bonus is that made room now for our hand-me-down reading chair so Tim can sit in in when he reads the boys their bedtime stories (currently in the CS Lewis Narnia series).

The best part about taking the time to re-organize the boys' room and all their toys? They were so excited to play with everything! Here they are later in the afternoon with literally every large and small vehicle they owned - lined up in a fun imaginary playtime.

You mean they got out everything all at once right after we put it all away? Why, yes. Of course they did. :-)

Next up. Making Baby Caleb an actual nursery. Do you have any cute ideas or inspiration? Leave me a comment or send me an email. I'd love to hear it!
