25 Random Things About Me.

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

1. I knew that the man I would marry would be tall and play guitar before I met Tim (for those of you that haven’t met my cute husband – he is 6’4” and plays the guitar)
2. My two boys are very big for their ages and eat A LOT. (If you haven’t been to breakfast at the Barretts, you probably wouldn’t believe me if I told you)
3. Both my babies were born with the assistance of a midwife and neither was born at a hospital.
4. When I was pregnant with my first, I feared I would not “take” to being a mom, but now I can’t imagine life without my kiddos – I thank God daily for them because I NEEDED them! ;-)
5. We intentionally live on the same street as some of our best friends and our kids play outside several times a week riding bikes and scooters in the cul-de-sac (people joke often about our “commune”).
6. My life changed dramatically at the age of 20 when I became a Christian – I have a hard time now even remembering who I was before that turning point.
7. My first job after graduating from college with honors with a BA in Business-Finance was as a part time youth pastor.
8. … after that I moved to Tahoe and waited table for a few years while doing ministry and having a girl’s discipleship house with Heather (my parents were thrilled about their daughter being the best educated waitress at Chevy’s!)
9. We have a sweet dog named Daisy that sits for every family meal right next to Will’s high chair – she is quite the opportunist (one of Will’s first words was ‘Daisy’)
10. We named our 4-Runner the “Silver Bullet” (yesterday after sports camp when I told Jared to head to the “Silver Bullet”, his coach made a joke about us going to drink Miller Beer. It took me a few minutes to catch on.)
11. I had very liberal political tendencies in college and now have very conservative ones – my old anthropology prof would be horrified! ;-)
12. I always sleep on the right side of the bed (if you are facing it) and with 4 specific pillows.
13. I have more junk drawers than I would like to admit (sorry, husband!)
14. I make lists and schedules for my family and myself every day.
15. Sometimes I add things to my list after I have already done them just so I can cross them off.
16. I love serving and eating our meals outside.
17. We enjoy frequent family bike rides with the boys in the bike trailer – this gets to be more of a workout every day, though, as their combined weight now tops 70 lbs (before the trailer!).
18. We still call my second son, “Baby Will” even though he is a walking, almost totally talking, really big, 1 ½ year old. Sometimes, just “Baby” for short – he answers to both.
19. I misplace my phone just about every day (when Jared was 2, he put on my shoes to pretend to be me and said, “Bye! I’m going to work now. WAIT! Where’s my phone??”)
20. I frequently encourage my boys to do dangerous things.
21. I make up and sing songs about everything and sing out loud a lot (and now so does Jared).
22. I would fall asleep on every car ride over 30 minutes if my husband would let me.
23. I graduated from college the same year my husband graduated from high school.
24. I check my email and facebook so much it sometimes annoys my husband.
25. I dress my boys in matching outfits whenever possible.
