Genesis 1:1 - Will Style

Can I just say how much I love my church??

The Barretts have been attending CovCom for over a year now and it has been such a blessing to our family. The people are wonderful and the teaching and emphasis on the WORD has been incredible. Every church has a different "flavor", but at CovCom Christian education is a top value and priority, from the youngest little ones to the adult classes. We are all so much better for it.

Last year when we started attending, we were encouraged by Jared's toddler Sunday School and their teaching of scripture memory. It has been such a tool that has not only equipped our boys, but also equipped Tim and I as parents. By the time Jared was three, he had hidden over a dozen verses in his precious little heart.

Now that Will is two, he has the privilege of joining Jared's class and being taught by two DEAR women, Miss Pat and Miss Rhoda. The love these two have for this LARGE group of active two and three year old's is so beautiful. We are working with Will now on his first memory verse, which is Genesis 1:1 ...

In the beginning, God created
the heavens and the earth.

Here is a little video of us practicing it tonight. It is so much fun. It may take you a minute to understand his pronunciation, especially since he is being so stinkin' silly (that's Will for you), but I think you will be able to make it out. Good thing we have Jared to translate - such a good big brother.

In case you ever wondered what scripture memory looked like with a very young child (Will is barely two), you can wonder no more ...
