Carter's Farm ...

Jared had a "field trip" at his school a few weeks back - Carter's Farm brought a petting zoo to their playground to finish up their farm unit with a bang.

It was a GREAT collection of animals and it was so fun for the kids to get to enjoy it with all their friends ...

Jared took a turn brushing the sheep before heading off for the swings. Swinging super high is pretty much his favorite thing to do these days. Brave boy.

Will checking out the baby duck and chicks.
The kids
were supposed to just look and not touch these little guys.

Will figured out where he could touch the animals, though,
and made himself comfortable inside the circle of girls
holding the chickens. He is such a hands-on kid.

Eventually, Jared found his way back to sit
next to Mikayla and hold the birds, too.

The crowd favorite was probably the 6 day old pigs.
The "farmer" had to separate these little guys
and feed them himself as they were the runts.

Kids weren't supposed to touch - but grownups could!
Its hard to see, but I am bottle feeding
this tiny little piggy - how cool is that??

Everything with Will is an adventure. The most memorable moment of the morning happened when I had to sit down at the picnic benches and feed Caleb. I was watching as the boys played with the animals when I noticed Will reaching down to grab a baby chick. There wasn't much I could do since I was feeding the babe - I tried to call out and get another mommy's attention - but mostly sat helpless while I watched him carry the little chicky over and try to ... ummm... feed to the goat? He got totally busted by the "farmer". I think it was good for him to get the reprimand from someone else in authority.

Seriously, this kid??? What a stinker!! Where does he come up with this stuff? Need to keep a close eye on that one! :-)
