Project Boys ...

Jared loves coloring and working on "art projects" for people - he always has loved doing art. I was constantly getting supplies out and putting them away and my kitchen counter was constantly littered with scraps of paper. UNTIL - we made him his own little art kit and set up his desk (thanks Aunt Janet) in the office.

Several times a day he heads back there to work on a project. He loves to make "books" (papers stapled together) and "letters" for his daddy, me, his brother, and various friends. Really thoughtful kid. Except for the occasional help he asks for to spell a particular word or phrase, this is an activity he does pretty much all on his own. How cool is that? He is learning how to write and read - and does tons of practicing. Love that.

Will's been following Jared's example, too, and busies himself cutting, coloring, and gluing alongside his brother when he can. Another benefit is to having a set art station is that they are working on learning how to clean up their area and take care of their supplies.
