Never a dull ... some highlights ... mind you this is all in the span of a few hours ...
I was downstairs preparing dinner when Jared came down and for several minutes was happily cutting paper as I talked on the phone to a friend. It dawned on me that Will was no where to be found. The actual conversation went somewhat like this...
Me: "Jared, where is your brother?"
Jared: "He wanted me to tuck him into his crib to go to sleep and so I did."
Me: "Did you zip him ALL the way into his crib tent?"
Jared: "Yes"
Me: "Can he get out?"
Jared: "No"
Me: "Jared! Get right upstairs and unzip your brother!"
Meanwhile, the sound of Will calling out in the background through the closed upstairs door...
After the above issue was resolved and both boys downstairs, I look up to see one of them (I'll just call him "Jaren" for the sake of anonymity) had picked up the scissors and was crouched over poor Daisy, our sweet golden lab, with her tail in his hand ... I managed to thwart that little experiment in the nick of time. What is it they say about little boys and puppy dog tails??
This evening while looking at a vacant house for sale I looked into the backyard where the boys were playing and one of them (I'll just call him "Bill" for the sake of anonymity) had picked up poop and proceeded to inspect it then throw it. So gross.
Later still this evening the boys were taking a bath while I was in our adjacent office. I hear some commotion and walk in to find that they had somehow managed to turn our deep soaking tub into a water slide. Brilliant.
Cap it off with some sweet (and hilarious) prayers in no particular order ... prayers for "Ayiana" (Arianna), "Mikaywa" (Mikayla), "for mommy, for daddy, for doctors, for Daisy, for Joshua and Joy and that we will see them again," thanks for "helfy, helfy, helfy (healthy) water to drink, for helfy, helfy, helfy lemonade to drink, followed by lemon juice, orange juice, water (again), and food to eat," and then my personal favorite, "That you are so strong and mighty God and that you make Daddy able to eat monsters. Amen"
Yep, folks. This is just one day in my house with two boys.
And to think what fun it will be when we have THREE boys! Ha ha! Let the good times roll! ;-)
