3D Ultrasound!

We had our first 3-D ultrasound this week. This wasn't a service offered by either midwife with first two pregnancies. We decided to take the boys as they have been so into this pregnancy. We were all pretty excited to see what this baby might look like.

The night before the big event, I reminded Jared we were going to see the baby in the morning in a picture, like an X-ray. Ever the thoughtful kid, he has been trying to figure out what's actually going on inside mommy's tummy.

He asked me, "is he stuck to a cord in there?"

I replied, "Yes, it's called the umbilical cord and its how the baby gets his food."

He continues, "... and it plugs into his belly?"

Apparently, the only vernacular he has to work with on the whole cord issue have to do with small kitchen appliances and vacuums.

Will's been expressing his love for baby in his way, too. He is my hand's on kid and asks every day (sometimes a few times a day) in his sweet Will voice, "Mommy, can I pet your baby?" and proceeds to gently rub my tummy and say, "Hiii baabbby."

Precious. I can't wait to see all three of these beautiful boys together in October.

It was hard to get a clear picture of baby boy since he kept moving around and his little hand was up in front of his face for every shot. No worries, we'll meet you soon enough and in the meantime, it was fun to get a little sneak peak.

There's a video, too, that I don't actually expect anyone to watch all 6 minutes of, but I think some of images can be seen clearer here. It alternates between 2D and 3D and you can move it faster with your mouse. ;-)
