Swim Lessons at the City of Phoenix ...

We finished up today two weeks of swim lessons with the City of Phoenix. These boys are READY to keep working on their strokes and side breaths, so we thought the extra practice would be good for them. What I didn't take into consideration was the HEAT I would have to endure poolside to watch said lessons. The major bonus - it was only $15 for TWO WEEKS and their teacher was great. The drawback - other than the 110-116 degree afternoons we had these past two weeks - were that there was 8-9 kiddos in each class. Needless to say, my two (who were easily the youngest) had a hard time hanging on the side of the pool for the downtime. There was a lot of "floating away" and dinking around. Not sure we'd do it again (at least not with me being 7 month pregnant in JULY), but we did gain some great skills to work on for the rest of the summer ...

Some pics from our last day ...

Jared jumping in.

Will jumping in.

Waiting, waiting ...

More waiting ...

Will working on his backstroke. He was
hilarious - smiling the whole time - even
when under water. He LOVES swimming.

Jared's valiant push off the edge for his
turn at backstroke. (he prefers freestyle)

Starfish float.

When the lesson was over today, the kids all took a turn on the water slide. Can you see their excitement??

Afterwards, all the kiddos got certificates and popsicles. So much fun!

Mikayla and Arianna took lessons at the same time, too. It was fun to see them coming and going. These four really love each other!

Looking at these pics is yet another reminder of just how fortunate we are and how many fun opportunities these kids have to learn new things ... we are truly blessed.
