Caleb's First Birthday!

Our adorable third born son turned one on September 30th and we celebrated with a few friends at our neighborhood park in Moon Valley. First birthdays are always a little overwhelming for the guest of honor, but it was a treat for the rest of us to be together and celebrate this special little boy. We had coffee and donuts and bagels, the kids played, and another milestone is appropriately marked!

Oh, Caleb. How we love you! You bring so much joy to our family!

I tried putting him in his travel chair on the ground to try to get him to stay put. This plan worked beautifully until he decided he could easily crawl away with it strapped to his back like a little turtle!

I did my best to keep him on this blanket. Since he was not yet walking, he was FILTHY from crawling around on the sidewalk and dirt. This blanket was our one refuge!

Grandma Kim & Papa Bob have made it to just about every one of our kiddos birthdays. Wow!

It was a challenge to keep Caleb's very eager older brothers from "helping" too much!

The good news is, though, that Caleb didn't seem to mind. He was just happy to tear into paper!

Oh Caleb. We love you so much! You are a fun one year old and a delightful addition to our family. We love your big blue eyes, your cuddles, your quickly developing vocabulary. We always comment on how verbal you are. At one you have a TON of words that you use correctly! Our favorite is how you always say, "Down!" when you are really climbing UP! Must be because that's what we tell you when you try it! :-)

You make us happy. Your funny faces make us laugh. We are excited to see how the Lord's plans will unfold for your life. Happy First Birthday!
