The boys big gift this year from my parents and us was a new to us play set. We've wanted a large play/swing set for some time now as part of our "master plan" for a super fun backyard. The boys, too, have wanted a "big boy" set with "real swings" (and not just a tire swing). It was funny, the last trip we took through Costco, Jared showed me the play set there and pleaded, "I've been wanting one of these for YEARS!"
We did our research and opted for a used "trex" set made of recycled material that would never need to be sanded, stained, or refinished instead of a wood one. This thing is SOLID!!
My dad and his buddy picked it up for us the week before Christmas and we found some guys to install it the day after. Good thing, too, because it took them HOURS to do it!

We're all looking forward to hours of backyard fun (and inside quiet!) now that this baby is up! These are some lucky boys ... swings, slide, pool, tire swing, trampoline ... what a blessing to have such a big lot! The last step in the master plan will be to pave back by the barn to make a driveway/sport court... but no telling when we'll do that one. :-)
The new play set is definitely one of the highlights of Christmas 2011. The boys have had fun on the slide and their new swings. Caleb, too, is our little thrill seeker and loves going down the big slide and swinging high in his new swing. Thanks Poppi & Gigi!
