"Fall"
We took the boys up north for a weekend in October to "see fall". If you've never lived in Phoenix for more than a year, this will probably make no sense to you. In Phoenix, you have two seasons, HOT summer and mild winter. I thought it was funny that the kids were learning about fall in their classrooms and not actually seeing it for themselves so we decided to take a mini family vacation to Flagstaff.
We took the long way via the scenic Sedona route, thinking we'd see some great fall color along the creek ...
We were a hair too early to see the colors change, but it was beautiful nonetheless ...

We made a stop at the scenic overlook point for the first time ... what a view!
Even Buffalo Park didn't have much in the way of fall color, although we did enjoy a beautiful, COLD walk through it ...

And we had a family timed race on the balance beams to see who could get through the fastest ...

Even though Daddy is the tallest, I'm pretty sure I won.
The only place we really saw to collect "fall leaves" was at the park by my parents ... the boys were so happy, though, to amass a collection to show their classes.

The weather in Arizona is funny. Although the leaves weren't changing enough to really be considered "fall", Tim did take the boys up to Snowbowl where what they experienced that odd October weekend was more like WINTER!
