Aching Ears ...

Poor Caleb has ANOTHER ear infection.  As the third born with two older brothers bringing home lots of germs, he has come down with more than his fair share of colds this year.  It's been just about guaranteed that if he gets a runny nose, it goes straight to his ears as an infection.  Poor guy.

Last Wednesday we went to the ENT to get checked out and thankfully, he has no hearing loss and his ears were clear.  BUT - Dr. Milligan did say that if he got another infection soon that we would go straight to tubes.  This Friday, I made an appointment with our pediatrician to check him out as he's had another runny nose, as sure enough - big time, double infection.  From clear to infected in just over a week.  I'd say that qualifies as soon, huh?

After the appointment, I picked up what will be the seventh round of antibiotics since November for Caleb and booked an appointment for tubes at the end of the month.  I'm praying the tubes alleviate his infections and his gut can have a rest from all the antibiotics.  I'm also praying that his date comes quickly.

I feel so bad for him!  Poor guy has been alternating between our sweet, happy Lubby and a crazy, two foot tyrant.  He woke up in rare form on Friday from his nap and literally cried for an hour - mad and refusing to be comforted.  Here is another picture message play by play sent to my cute husband ... I'll say it again, "Poor guy!"

Sorry you have to go through this with Caleb. Cash had to have tubes and we just got his tonsils and adenoids out. Some kiddos just have a harder time fighting off the germs. I think he will feel so much better once the tubes are in. Hope it goes well. It's SO hard to have your little one in pain.

How is Cash doing now? All the ear aches and antibiotics are no fun for sure. Miss you, my friend. xo
