While Dad's away...

Tim left this afternoon for the weekend to attend our church's annual Men's Retreat .  While I am always glad he attends and in prayer for him to have a blessed time, its hard to have him leave.  I usually try to do a few fun things with the boys to pass the time and make it special.

Tonight, we met my parents for ice cream...

Lubby even got his own cone of sherbet.  He wasn't too sure at first...

He held it for a while.

Then slowly started touching it to his mouth.

And then a little more...

Until he was fully into it.

Once he figured out just how good it was, there was no stopping him!

Cute story on the way to ice cream...

Will from the back of the van tells us all, "I miss Daddy."

I reminded him how we were heading to get ice cream and asked him how fun that was.

To which he replied, "I love Daddy more than ice cream."

Perceptive this kid.  And, sweet.  We do have fun doing special things when Daddy's gone, but there is no question that we would all agree - Daddy is WAY better than ice cream.

After we enjoyed our treats, my mom handed off the navy damask duvet cover she completed.  Isn't it lovely?  Only two more small projects and a few shelves to hang in here and Caleb's room (aka the first of the two nurseries I started in my second trimester and planned to decorate before baby Anna is born) will be finished!!  Yay!
