We had our much anticipated visit with Kim and Bob this past weekend. They drove out from California to spend time with us for a few days. Despite the colds the boys had, I'd say the highlight was the spring training game they went to on Sunday. Papa Bob is a big baseball fan and very devoted to the Giants. So, of course, the boys got decked out in their Giants gear from last year's T-ball team to go see the game.
After the game, Papa bought them some binders to start their own baseball collections. Very exciting!
We had a great weekend with beautiful weather. We spent lots of time outside, did lots of juicing the fresh oranges we stripped from our trees, and enjoyed each other's company.
Our visit was extended by an extra day as poor Bob came down with the brutal stomach flu that has been hitting hard this year. It was a little stressful trying to keep him quarantined from the boys who REALLY wanted to see him. We worked hard to avoid spreading the "love" as I did NOT want to go through another bout with the flu here! There's no way I could have done that without Kim. She is a germ attacking professional.
These boys are SO lucky to have such wonderful grandparents. And I am blessed to have married into such a great family with such solid values, ordered around the importance of Christ and family. We're looking forward to them coming for TEN days after baby girl's birth in May. I know I'll be able to use the help and they are super excited about having their first granddaughter.
We are all so blessed. :-)
