I've been bugged by these shelves and did some rearranging this week. The black frames were too stark and too modern next to the fireplace and mantel so I experimented with swapping them out with some silver ones I thought I was saving for Anna Jean's room. Much better. Paired with some green accents and the repainted "B" in matching blue (thanks Jess for the ideas), I think its a big improvement. Now... I think this room is just about set, moving on...
