Resources...

I'm working on compiling a list of "must have" resources for young moms/families.  I am motivated after reading probably 15 different children's bibles with my kids and dialing in on my few favorites for different ages.  I've used a lot of great resources but it seems like every time I stumble upon a new great resource its almost been on accident so I've decided its time to be intentional.  I'm polling some of the moms of older kids who have been there and done a great job in discipling and training their kids in the faith and reformed theology.  I want to be intentional about putting together an informal list for moms at our church and other mom friends of mine in this same stage of life.  Don't you think this is something we all need?

There are tons of options out there, but what are the BEST?  And for which ages are they geared for?

I keep going back to that Dr. Wilson and Pamela Benton series on Raising Covenant Families found on Redeemer's website under downloads.  She had several fantastic suggestions.

For example, I just started using "Jesus in Pictures for Little Eyes" for Caleb (21 months).  He doesn't sit still for long so this one is PERFECT as it is a one page, interactive format with a bright picture Caleb can point to and name.

For the big boys, I am LOVING "The Child's Story Bible" by Catherine Vos.  Part story bible/part commentary - this one is a GREAT tool for ages 6-7 through college and adult, really.  Every time I read it, I learn something.  I just gave a copy to 12 year old Emily and am excited to see how she and her family like it.

And so, the list ...

Do you have any recommendations for your TOP bibles, books, etc. for parenting and teaching your children as they grow?  I'm not talking about materials to be used in church Sunday Schools, so much as resources for parents to use at home with their children.  If you have any that you LOVE and wouldn't do without, I'd love to hear them.

And, I promise to share.

* I'm sure I'll have to trim the final list so its not overwhelming, giving more weight to resources that have several recommendations and those by authors whose theology is closest to ours.  If you want me to send you a copy whenever its done, whatever "it" looks like, please let me know!
