Bubbles

19 months is a really fun age. Will is just starting to get the hang of things ... his sense of humor developing ... his motor skills improving ... his vocabulary growing. 19 months is also a challenging age as it is major "training time" as we are really doing our best to train Will to be obedient, etc. etc.

Will can say a lot of things ... not perfectly, but most of the time I can understand him. Those of you that know him know that he has always had a "knack" for communicating in a particularly effective way so as to get his message across when he wants something. His nickname was, "demandy, mandy-boy." ;-)

One thing he hasn't quite figured out, though, is the word for "clouds" ... he calls them "bubbles" ... no matter how hard we try to correct him. He gets pretty excited, points, and shouts, "BUBBLES!! BUBBLES!! BUBBLES!!" I guess I can see his logic as they sort of look like the bubbles in his bath. Whatever the reason, I find it incredibly cute. One day soon, I know he'll start calling them clouds and later on, I'll reminisce about when he was small and remind him ... "when you were a baby, those were "BUBBLES!!" and you wouldn't have it any other way."

PS: Speaking of bubbles ... another day ... another opportunity to perfect his bubble blowing (that Nana Mary Jane is teaching them so well in swim class) ... in Daisy's water bowl. I was cleaning up the kitchen this morning when he came in from outside with the telltale wet face and forehead. Yuck!! The stuff the get into at this age is pretty gross! At least I know from experience now, with Jared, that they will grow out of it - hopefully, sooner than later! ;-)
