Daddy's Home ...

Daddy is home.

I have mixed emotions about this week being over. It was one of those mountaintop moments that part of you wishes you could live in forever. My husband's spirit was so fed and his vision so re-charged, that you hate to see it come to a close. The boys and I made it without him at home - we even had a little fun.

That said, there is nothing like having Daddy home. After being gone all week, Tim and I both sensed that Jared needed the closeness and the comfort of having Daddy's physical presence there during nap time. Jared was so happy to have Daddy offer to sleep with him - and after his marathon week, Tim was ready for the rest. Aren't they cute?

Last night, we celebrated the at the graduation gala for the Leadership Institute. It was such an incredible time of enjoying the goodness of the Lord and celebrating what He did in all of the participants this past week.

The days at the Institute were long - lasting from early morning worship, through several sessions led by gifted teachers such as theologian - Wayne Grudem, economist - Barry Asmus, Kurt Warner, and Darryl DelHousaye. Breakout sessions lasted until late at night ... and fellowship continued sometime even until the wee hours of the morning.

They jokingly referred to the week as "Christian Camp for Capitalists."

I know the Lord did a deep work in my husband's heart and opened the door to him for great freedom. Tim's big take-away was that Christian businessman's value to the Kingdom is not limited to their giving to the "real ministers" and teaching the occasional Sunday School class. If one is walking in their calling (and Tim feels called to business) and working with excellence for the the glory of God, that this work is good and manifests the reality of the Kingdom.

After dinner last night, we stayed up way late and thoroughly enjoyed the company of the other participants and their wives. I am struck by what a neat group of people this is and how the Lord is knitting hearts together.

I am so proud of my husband. I am so grateful that he is following the will of God for his life (and by extension, our life). I am so appreciative that he had the opportunity to participate in such an incredible week. I am inspired by the love, wisdom, and generosity that has been lavished upon him.

I am hopeful for the good plans the Lord has in store for our family.
