I am so excited for my husband this week.
I know I am a little late in posting the praise report for this prayer request back in March.
Update: Tim got in!
He started the week-long, Leadership Institute on business and philanthropy put on by Marketplace One in downtown Phoenix yesterday. We went down as a family to check him into the Hyatt Regency and sent him off to meet the other participants. After our wonderful cousin, Ciera, came and picked up the boys, I joined him for dinner.
I am so inspired by the vision and the generosity of the Godly men and women putting on this conference. They are lavishing love, wisdom, and blessings on a monumental scale onto the 41 men and women chosen to participate. I was able to sneak a peek at the itinerary and it is quite the lineup of speakers they are bringing in to pour into this group. These speakers are all nationally recognized Christian leaders from numerous societal sectors ... leaders in business, theology, sports (hello Kurt Warner!), non-profits, politics ... unbelievable. In a word, excellence.
I am so grateful to the Lord that he gets this opportunity. Thanks, Nathan, for opening the door. I am praying big time for Tim that he is just floored by the possibilities of what the Lord can do. I am praying that Tim would walk away with BIG, specific vision for what God would have for his life in business and ministry. I am praying divine connections with these other businessmen and women and that deep, meaningful friendships would be birthed. A few of the guys we have known from other circles, but most are fresh faces. The caliber of this group is impressive, I am so glad that Tim gets to spend his week with them.
We will miss him, no doubt. Jared is very concerned that I have "left Daddy at the hotel" and asks frequently when we are going to go back and pick him up. We did see him for a brief minute today when we took extra cold medicine, tea, honey, kleenex, etc. to help nurse him throught he cold he is trying to get over. And, I do get to join Tim on Wednesday evening with the entire group, alumni, and spouses for dinner and a Diamondbacks game. (I am really looking forward to Wednesday!)
On Friday, we have a graduation gala. (Aunt Kelly and the girls are keeping the boys overnight - so I get to stay with Tim at the hotel - woo hoo!) The boys won't see Daddy again until Saturday because we really want him to be totally focused on what the Lord has for him there this week. Small price to pay, really ... I am so, so happy for he gets to do this.
I know this opportunity it is the favor of the Lord and the continued unveiling of the His plan for my sweet, wonderful, competent, smart, strong, integrous husband. Tim known since he was young, that he is called to the marketplace. I am looking forward to seeing what the Lord can do in connecting him with other visionaries of like calling.
The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps.
