My morning devotions with Jared have been my favorite time of the day. Quiet house, with a cup of coffee and my first born (who has his own sippy cup of hot tea with honey) - heavenly. These devotion times are taking on a new twist as Will is getting older and just about ready to participate. Will (being younger) is not quite able to sit still as long as Jared and requires quite a bit more maintenance and instruction. That said, Will loves being up with us and is really good at following his brother's lead.
I am doing my best to be flexible and include him in our traditions (even if it isn't as peaceful as before) ... let's just say morning devotions have definitely been a bit more "lively" given the addition of our almost two year old "baby".
I've decided it is time to get Will his very own children's Bible for his 2nd birthday. I will be keeping my eye out for the perfect one with lots of pictures (and heavy duty pages).
I am reminded again of the quote that we tend to push our first borns and hold back our seconds ... I pray for the grace to parent each of of my children according to their own timetables (not mine) and the wisdom to be in tune with their little hearts every step along the way.

Anyone notice anything wrong with the picture above? Namely Will's bible? Lol! This is going to be interesting ...
