Daddy is the most popular person in our family ...

Which is wonderful.

Normally.

Except on Saturdays like today where Daddy is cutting wood with power tools and "playing" with other dangerous things, it can be a little intense for him.  Literally, all 3 boys were all over him today as he worked hard on the fireplace mantel project.  The sheer manliness of the project was a huge draw to Daddy's little fans.

This morning I updated pictures in our family picture walls with some newer pictures of Caleb and the boys.  It was mind boggling how much time it took to truly clean each frame inside and out properly and hang and immobilize in a STRAIGHT line with double stickies.  Sheesh!

I actually got so frustrated that they wouldn't hang straight that I broke a frame and had to re-assemble - not my best moment.  Big shout-out to Dave Heller's photography skills for some nice (newer) pictures of my boys.

The boys were TROOPERS today playing among themselves in the yard and with trains while Tim and I worked our tails off.   Jared tossed his new football around a lot and talked Tim into playing catch a few times until he finally threw it over the fence in the the Heller's yard.

Will's quote of the day, "Mommy, why do we always have to work so hard?"  about sums it up.  Oh man, how hard for a four year old to understand - that MOMMY is a little OBSESSED with getting this things dialed in in the next few weeks so we can move on to the nursery.  :-)

While Caleb napped this afternoon, I worked on sanding the french doors to prime and paint the same color as our trim.  Once everything was ready for paint, we all took a break and had a DELIGHTFUL bike ride and ended up at the park to play some soccer.  Man, did we all ever need that break!!  Tim took a well deserved adult beverage along in a jerry rigged stroller cup holder attached to his cruiser bike.

Once Caleb was down for the night, we were back at it - taping and priming the doors.  We still have to sand once more and put on the final coat of actual paint ... but ... what do you think?

It is really coming along.  The white doors make a big difference, as does the white wood casing Tim has toiled over ceaselessly.  Love that cute husband.  We're both not as annoyed by the blue now that the bottom of the mantel is encased in white wood, so we'll see what we finally decide about that when its all said and done.

Tim and I can both feel the classic remodel dilemma coming on ... where does it end???
