This weekend we sold my big wall desk and hutch and bought an armoire for the new "office" in the kitchen. After looking for weeks, we decided on a nice Ethan Allen media armoire that we plan to add a keyboard and file drawer to convert to a computer work station. The media armoires are dinosaurs in these days of huge flat screen TV's and not in very high demand on Craigslist. I'm hoping by the time we retrofit this one to our needs, we'll be able to stick within our budget AND have a quality piece of furniture.
Nice, huh?
My big project today was finishing painting Caleb's room from the original yellow to a light tan. I'll admit it's not easy with three small children to try to get uninterrupted time to paint and keep a mess contained ... but I did have a few happy little helpers. :-)
(This picture cracks me up as Jared and Will had just traded jobs. Will was painting the corners and Jared was holding the cup of paint. Will's face shows that he's having a great time, while Jared is trying to explain to me that Will really needs to trade back as he isn't doing it right! Ha ha!)
This was Caleb's room after painting was complete ...
And this is what it looked like by the time Caleb went to bed. I can't wait to see it when the duvet and pillows are finished. I still have to put the toy box back into the room and organize Caleb's toys and closet, as well as (finally) hang some pictures on the wall ... but we're getting closer!!
There is still so much "stuff" to get through before this room can start to take some shape. No doubt that this ought to keep us busy for a while ...
