Mind you, Jared has been to the dentist before. Our dentist is wonderful and takes time to check out the teeth belonging to the small children of his patients to check for any glaring problems and to get them acquainted with the process - hopefully easing them into it so they aren't too freaked out by the dentist, as can happen all too frequently I'm told. (ask Tim about his trips to the dentist as a small child sometime ... too sad!)
Anyway ... this actually wasn't Jared's first trip (Dr. Mike had repaired a chipped tooth for him 6 months back), but it was his first cleaning. I pumped it up all morning like it was a really big treat to get to go to the dentist and I tried my best to prepare him for what to expect. He was a little nervous when we got there, it didn't help that he was still groggy from being woken up too early from his nap.
Thankfully, Dr. Mike came to our rescue right when things could have taken a turn for the worse by immediately turning on the Cars movie ... how cool is that?

Happy boys ... two to a chair

Jared giving me his best "thumbs up" while watching his movie ... Will doing what Will does best .... wiggling.

Jared even got a special "Finding Nemo" bib ... he was pretty jazzed about it (while still watching the movie).

Jared with Dr. Mike after his cleaning holding his new "Cars" toothbrush.
Jared did so great - he actually sat still through the entire thing without complaint and the best part? No cavities (yeah!).
Will let Dr. Mike check his teeth out ... sort of. He laid there, but wouldn't open his mouth for Mike except for barely wide enough to get that Cars brush in ... gotta love the dental swag. Jared actually headed straight for the bathroom when we finally did get home - he had to give that new toothbrush a test run before dinner.
Daddy took them for a treat to celebrate their successful trip to the dentist while I was getting my teeth cleaned. Ice cream at McDonald's! Ironic, I know, but it totally sealed the deal for my kids. The dentist is THE place to be, for sure.
Since it was not yet dinnertime, we decided to squeeze in a little family date, poolside at the Pointe. Even though its wicked hot outside at 5pm, the pool is still refreshing and a much enjoyed treat. Like our own (almost) private paradise.

Living the dream. Yes sir, we are living the dream.

How are you able to use the pool at the Pointe? Do you know people? :-)
Our HOA gives us privileges there since we are in a Pointe community. Isn't that so cool? Without the HOA it is $5/person under 42 inches. Still pretty cheap. Want to come swim sometime soon??? My boys would love to play with your boys and we would have so much fun! ;-)
