So... the Barretts had two "firsts" this year watching fireworks.
On the Sunday before the 4th, we watched fireworks for the first time from our bathroom.
On the actual 4th of July night we watched the fireworks show from the Flagstaff mall. My expectations were super low going into this one - the Town billed it as "Fire-safe Fire-works" so I am thinking a few sparklers, at best. I have to say the show exceeded my expectations! Every time more than one would explode at once, I kept saying, "Oh, is this the finale?" Tim started teasing me about it - I probably said it five times thinking they were surely wrapping the thing up.
The show didn't even start until 9pm so we celebrated with some ice cream treats while we waited. We didn't watch the entire event because it was sooo late and we had to get the boys to bed, I didn't even get to experience the actual "finale" ... maybe as the kiddos get older and bedtime is later than 8pm. ;-)

Will has been saying, "Wa firewa, Mommy" (translation: " I want to watch fireworks, Mommy") several times a day ever since. If you say anyword that even remotely sounds like "fire" or "work", he asks about fireworks. Pretty funny.

Below are some pics from a bbq we went to up in Flag at the home of some family friends. Fun times with their "Nana Sally" (who was "Aunt Sally" to be me growing up) who always spoils the kids with treats.

"Dance Party" time with the musical chicken ... Work it, boys. Work it.
