Our dear friends, Tai and Sarah Navares welcomed baby Joya into their little family this past week ...
Joya Isabella Navares ... Born Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 3:10 p.m, weighing 6 lbs. 3 oz & 19 inches long.
Isn't she delicious? Blond hair and light eyes and daughter to some really good looking parents, she is going to be quite the beauty!

Tai's brother, James, was Tim's best man at our wedding. They hail from a wonderful family based in Reno, NV. After high school, Tim moved to Reno for a while and lived with James and the Navares family. Actually, James was with Tim on their first trip to Tahoe where we met for the first time. ;-)
We were so thrilled when Tai moved to Phoenix to marry the lovely Sarah. It is wonderful to see God working in knitting lives together and keeping connections. Sarah's entire family lives in Gold Canyon, so naturally they live there too. Although we don't get to see them nearly as often as we'd like because it is a one hour drive each way, we sure enjoy our times together when we do.
We took the happy parents dinner tonight so we could see the new little princess. Given the commute, we decided to stay for a bit and eat with them. It was wonderful to catch up with Tai and Sarah and visit with Tai's parents, Angele & Sandy, who are out from Reno to help out.

What a precious time ... when your family grows from 2 to 3 ... welcoming the first born baby. I so remember those days ... so in love with this precious little one and at the same time ... no sleep and unsure of yourself in totally foreign situation ... painfully aware that this is the most important job you will every have.
Tai and Sarah are going to make wonderful parents. Their hearts are tender, humble, and open to the Lord. I love the way they love each other and trust Him. I just pray all the grace and confidence in the world over them, they are doing a great job. Joya is one blessed little girl. She is going to be very happy here.
